Frank Cunningham
Founder and President
Frank Cunningham was the chair of a large mathematics faculty in one of Victoria’s top ranked high schools. He was awarded two international teaching fellowships for his contributions to teaching and curriculum development.

Frank has worked for ten years as a successful mathematics consultant in New York City. His strengths include the ability to embed rich problem solving material into the schools’ math programs. This has enhanced the level of student engagement by enabling students to appreciate real world connections and to learn through discovery in a collaborative classroom environment. His work has led to dramatic changes in teachers’ pedagogy that has resulted in much higher student outcomes.

Helen Murray
Dr. Helen Murray has had extensive experience in school improvement initiatives at the college level and across K-12 schools in New York City, New York State and Jersey City. Helen has worked with school communities in using data to identify student skill gaps and collaboratively developed interventions to address these. This has directly impacted increased teacher capacity and improved student performance and progress

Rebecca Krucoff
Rebecca Krucoff has been a social studies teacher, museum educator, and instructional coach in New York City for the past 22 years. She has worked with social studies and humanities teachers across the five boroughs to embed literacy in the content areas, to develop historical thinking skills, and to create rich performance based assessments. In addition to her work with Literacy and Math Matters, Rebecca is the co-founder and director of the Urban Memory Project (www.urbanmemoryproject.org), a non-profit with the mission of connecting people's personal histories to the history of their city through a variety of in-school and public programming.

Damian Butler
Damian Butler has worked as an educational consultant in New York City with a focus on mathematics following an extremely successful and varied career in education in Australia. Damian engages with teachers and school administration to develop comprehensive and strategic curriculum and assessments that suit the needs of the school. Damian works closely with schools to help to build teacher capacity and to assist in developing a professional culture within the school. He has a particular interest in special education and believes that offering multiple entry points in a learning centers environment will assist in improving student outcomes.

John Benton
John Benton is an experienced elementary school principal, teacher and education consultant. John was the principal of three public schools in Australia - leading and administering two large government schools in New South Wales (NSW). He won the Frank Farrell 2012 leadership fellowship awarded by the NSW state government. A video of John teaching has been used to help train hundreds of teachers in his home state. John lectured in mathematics method at the University of Sydney and the Australian Catholic University.

Theresa Sheehan
Theresa Sheehan has extensive experience in school leadership as a Principal and leading educational initiatives at a Network, District and National level. She has worked in schools across New York City focusing on student improvement in literacy, developing school leadership and teacher teams using differentiated professional development resulting in goal focused teams, strategic inquiry and the implementation of active school learning communities. Theresa’s experience and high level interpersonal skills allow her to work successfully at many levels with students as well as educators.

Victoria Seawall
Victoria Seawall has taught all levels of mathematics in public, private, charter, evening, and international schools. Her strong content knowledge, diverse skill set, connection with students, and insistence on taking pedagogical risks are what made her a strong educator.

When working with teachers, Victoria assists them in discovering and developing their strengths. She uses data to inform instruction and believes a strong department collaborates regularly to plan and share best practices.

Victoria helps teachers differentiate their lessons to meet individual student's unique needs and believes cultivating respectful relationships with students is essential in motivating them.
